Minutes for SB94 - Committee on Transportation
Short Title
Establishing a minimum course duration for motor vehicle accident prevention courses.
Minutes Content for Wed, Mar 13, 2019
Staff explained the bill and answered questions. Chairman Proehl recognized Mary Tritsch as the first proponent. (Attachment 4) According to Ms. Tritsch SB94, as amended, would require a motor vehicle accident avoidance course associated with a required reduction in motor vehicle insurance premium charges to be at least four hours in duration.
The next proponent recognized was Travis Lowe. (Attachment 5) He said AAA supported legislation that would improve road safety for auto drivers across the state. According to Mr. Lowe the amended version of this bill reflects agreed upon language among proponents that provides for flexibility in curriculum approval.
The Chairman asked if there were other proponents, neutrals or opponents. There were none so Chairman Proehl closed the hearing on SB94.
The Chairman brought up for approval the Committee Minutes for February 12, 13 and March 6 and 7, 2019. Representative Helgerson Moved to approve the Minutes, Representative Thimesch seconded the Motion and the Motion carried.
