Chairperson Huebert opened the meeting at 1:31, and called for final action on HB2144.
Representative Smith proposed amending the bill with the balloon amendment that he distributed. Revisor Jason Long reviewed the changes and additions.
There was a brief discussion about the amendment.
Representative Smith moved, Representative Thomas seconded, to adopt the proposed balloon amendment. Motion carried 10/5. Representatives Ward, Clayton, Stogsdill, and Xu recorded voting no.
Representative Smith moved, Representative Erickson seconded, to recommend HB2144, as amended, favorably for passage. Motion carried 10/5. Representatives Ward, Clayton, Stogsdill, Xu, and Benson recorded voting no.
