Dr. Mae Winchester provided information that noted that there has been no proper studies done to prove the safety of the process.The process for a proper study was described. The bill asks physicians to knowingly mislead patients. This interferes with a patient's rights to make an informed decision based on adequate information (Attachment 11).

Robert Eye discussed 3 aspects of the bill that need to be discussed. The bill requires proper notification be provided to the patient. The issue deals with the reliability of the information. This places physicians in a position that they may be providing misinformation. An issue was raised regarding civil and/or criminal liability due to unprofessional conduct (Attachment 12).

Rachel Sweet provided testimony that there has been no studies that prove the safety or effectiveness of the treatment. The bill undermines the patient's deliberation as to her treatment. The legislature should not be involved in the treatment of women's issues (Attachment 13) .

Letitia Harmon stated that the bill is medically unsound and jeopardizes medical providers (Attachment 14).
