Representative Highberger had questions and comments.
Letitia Harmon testified in support of HB2270 on behalf of American Civil Liberties Union of Kansas. Ms. Harmon stated it eliminates an unconstitutional provision that discriminates against same sex relationships. The statute as written singles out lesbian and gay youth for harsher prison sentences. (Attachment 7)
Chairperson Jennings called for final questions from the Committee and then closed the hearing.
