Representative Stephanie Clayton testified in support of HB2208. Representative Clayton expressed the existing Kansas law does not satisfactorily address the full range of extortion crimes, in the digital age. (Attachment 7)
Representative Highberger asked the revisor a question.
Sean Ostrow testified in support of HB2208 on behalf of himself. Mr. Ostrow stated the bill demonstrates, closing the sexual extortion loophole does not require radical legislative changes. Representative Highberger had questions.
Written only testimony in support of HB2208 by Sara Rust-Martin on behalf of the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence (Attachment 9); and Ed Klumpp on behalf of Kansas Association of Chiefs of Police, Kansas Sheriffs Association, and Kansas Peace Officers Association (Attachment 10).
