The Chair called the Committee to work HB2085 - Time requirement for reinstatement of a forfeited benefit unit of a rural water district.
The Chair opened debate on HB2085 and asked if there were any amendments.
Representative Smith moved to pass HB2085. Representative Hibbard seconded the motion.
Representative Highland presented an amendment to HB2085. (Attachment 1)
Doug Mays, Kansas Rural Water Association, explained the reason behind the amendment that changes the period of forfeiture from time to capacity.
Representative Highland moved to amend the language in HB2085 using the Highland amendment. Representative Schreiber seconded the motion. The motion to amend was passed on a voice vote.
Representative Smith moved to favorably pass HB2085 as amended. Representative Hibbard seconded the motion. The motion passed on a voice vote.
The Chair reviewed the calendar for 18-22 February 2019.
The Chair adjourned the Committee at 3:47pm.
