Committee work continued on HB2007. The chairman made note of testimony submitted by Representative Williams in support of HB2037. (Attachment 1) Assistant Revisor, Jenna Moyer made additional comments. Representative Pittman motioned to approve HB2007 out of committee. Motion was seconded by Representative Dierks. A discussion followed. During the discussion, Representative Pittman offered an amendment to include active duty military from all branches of the US military, Motion to approve the amendment was made by Representative Pittman and seconded by representative Dierks. The motion passed. Additional questions with respect to numbering, transitioning from embossed plates to digital, fee structure, and design were posed by members. The Assistant Revisor responded that all issues would be addressed by the Department of Revenue policies. Motion to pass out of committee HB2007 as amended, was made by Representative Phillips and seconded by Representative Croft. The motion passed. Representative Pittman asked that his vote in support of the motion be recorded; other committee members present were in favor of the motion to pass out of committee HB2007. Representative Pittman announced a representative from the Lottery would be submitting testimony on HB2037 at the Committee meeting to be held Tues, February 12. Assistant Revisor, Jenna Moyer answered all questions regarding the fiscal-note for the members. The next meeting of the Veterans and Military Committee is scheduled for Tuesday, February 12, 2019.
