Chairman Olson opened the hearing on the bill. He called for a Revisor of Statutes overview of the bill. Eileen Ma provided the overview.
Proponent Scott Schneider quantified his association's membership and described the Restaurant & Hospitality Association Benefit Trust. He testified that the bill would directly help hard working Kansans have greater access to insurance and healthcare. But he also expressed a concern that placing a non-insurance product into the insurance bill could cause confusion with the Kansas consumer. (Attachment 7)
