The Chair opened the hearing on HB2500.
Mr. Siebers reviewed the bill, saying that the bill provides a new distinctive license plate--the Delta Waterfowl plate (Attachment 3). The bill would be subject to the 250 initial plate commitment and payment of up to $5000 for development costs. The annual logo-use royalty payment ($250 up to $100) would be determined by Delta Waterfowl.
Via Web-ex Cyrus Hunter Baird, Senior Director of Government Affairs, Delta Waterfowl Foundation, spoke in support of the bill. He reported that Delta Waterfowl is the largest organization in North America dedicated to ducks and duck hunters. The Foundation provides research and education benefits and is at the forefront of hunter recruitment and retention. He said the license plate will be a showcase for the organization (Attachment 4).
