Eileen Ma, Assistant Revisor, ROS, presented the Revisor's Memorandum brief on the bill. (Attachment 5)
Eric Turek, Director of Government and Public Affairs, Kansas Insurance Department (KID), presented proponent testimony on this bill, which he requested on behalf of Vicki Schmidt, Insurance Commissioner. The bill would grant the Insurance Commissioner the flexibility to lower licensure fees for insurance agents and insurance agencies in Kansas. This legislation, in conjunction with other similar legislation last year, is anticipated to save the industry $1.2 million annually. (Attachment 6)
