Chair McGinn opened the hearing on HB 2587. Revisor Jason Long (Attachment 5) gave the Committee a brief on the bill.
Representative McNorton (Attachment 6) spoke in support of the bill. This bill would allow Water Districts to go into executive session to discuss confidential information which matches with what numerous other boards have the authority to do. Rep. McNorton stood for questions from the Committee and deferred to Dave Jackson who sits on the board for the North Topeka Drainage Ditch, to answer the Committee.

Chair McGinn announced that there will be a meeting on March 7, 2024, to discuss final action on bills HB 2176, HB 2166, and HB 2587.
