Representative Owens proposed a technical amendment that is needed since this is a bill from last year. (Attachment 9)
Representative Owens moved, Representative Eric Smith seconded, to adopt the amendment. The motion carried.
Representative Maughan proposed an amendment that would remove the rebuttable presumption altogether. (Attachment 10)
Representative Maughan moved, Representative Carmichael seconded, to adopt the amendment. The motion failed. Representatives Carmichael, Martinez, and Meyers requested their "aye" votes be recorded.
Representative Carmichael proposed an amendment that would strike section 2 of the bill. (Attachment 11)
Representative Carmichael moved, Representative Maughan seconded, to adopt the amendment. The motion failed.
Representative Eric Smith moved, Representative Turk seconded, to recommend HB2385 as amended, favorably for passage. The motion carried. Representative Carmichael requested his "nay" vote be recorded.
