The Chair called for final action on HB2741. Natalie Scott provided an overview of the bill.
Representative Owens proposed an amendment that would remove OJA from postrelease as parole is not under OJA or the judicial branch jurisdiction. (Attachment 12)
Representative Owens moved, Representative Adam Smith seconded, to adopt the amendment. The motion carried.
Representative Owens proposed an amendment that the Kansas Department of Corrections requested. (Attachment 13)
Representative Owens moved, Representative Eric Smith seconded, to adopt the amendment. The motion carried.
Representative Eric Smith moved, Representative Maughan seconded, to recommend HB2741 as amended favorably for passage. The motion carried. Representative Carmichael requested his "aye" vote be recorded.
