Chairperson McGinn opened the floor for final action on the bill.
Jason Long gave a brief overview of the bill for the committee.
Senator Shallenburger (Attachment 1) proposed an amendment to the bill to also include Crawford County along with Riley County. Discussion ensued. Senator Shallenburger moved that his amendment to the bill be approved. Senator Doll seconded. Motion carried.
Senator Bowers (Attachment 2) introduced an amendment to the bill which strengthened agricultural language in the bill. Discussion ensued. Senator Bowers moved that her amendment to the amended bill be approved. Senator Shallenburger seconded. Motion carried.
Senator Steffen proposed a conceptual amendment to be added to the bill. Committee discussed. Senator Steffen moved that a conceptual amendment be added to the bill which includes the language "or oil and gas exploration and development activity" on page 3, line 23 after "agricultural activity." Senator Shallenburger seconded. Further discussion ensued. Motion carried.
Senator Bowers moved to pass the bill favorably as amended out of committee. Senator Shallenburger seconded. Motion carried.
