Chair McGinn continued the hearing on the bill which began February 1st. Revisor Jason Long gave a brief summary of the bill.

Spencer Duncan, Government Affairs Director for the League of Kansas Municipalities was invited to speak before the committee. He offered an amendment to the bill (Attachment 1) which allows the emergency medical services board to grant permanent waivers. Joseph House, Executive Director of the Emergency Medical Services Board had initially stood in opposition to the bill but no longer is opposed with the added amendment. Both individuals stood for questions from the committee.

Chair McGinn opened the floor for further comments from the public. Sean Gatewood spoke in place of David Adams, President of Kansas Emergency Medical Services Association, to indicate his support of the amended bill.

Hearing on SB 384 was closed by Chair McGinn. After hearing the will of the Committee, Chair McGinn proceeded to work SB 384.

Senator Francisco moved to adopt the amendment to the bill. Senator Bowers seconded. Committee discussed. Motion carried.

Senator Bowers moved to pass the amended bill favorably out of committee. Senator Francisco seconded. Motion carried.
