Chairperson Rahjes opened the hearing on HB 2543 and requested Kyle Hamilton, Revisor, Office of Revisor of Statutes, to give an overview of the bill. (Attachment1) There were no questions at this time.
Chairperson Rahjes called upon Kelsey Olson to give proponent testimony. (Attachment 2) She introduced Dr. Justin Smith, Animal Health Commissioner, who would be available today to answer questions. Ms. Olson and Dr. Smith both stood for questions from Committee members.
Revisor Hamilton also answered questions.
Taylor Nikkel, Kansas Livestock Association, provided proponent testimony on HB 2543. (Attachment 3) Ms. Nikkel stood for questions.
Written-only proponent testimony was received from Claudia Hissong, Kansas Farm Bureau. (Attachment 4)
There being no other conferees or testimony on this bill, Chairperson Rahjes closed the hearing on HB 2543.
