The Chair called for final action on HB2522. Natalie Scott provided a review of the bill.
Representative Owens proposed an amendment that would require the Kansas Department of Corrections to provide inmates with an identification card issued pursuant to K.S.A. 8-1324. (Attachment 1)
Representative Owens moved, Representative Eric Smith seconded, to adopt the amendment. The motion carried.
Representative Eric Smith moved, seconded by Representative Carmichael, to recommend HB2522 as amended, favorably for passage. The motion carried. Representatives Carmichael, Martinez, and Schlingensiepen requested their "Aye" votes be recorded.
