Chairperson Proctor opened the hearing on HB2504 and recognized Assistant Revisor, Mike Heim, Office of Revisor of Statutes who presented overview of the bill.

  • Clay Barker, Deputy Secretary of State, General Council, provided background to address how this bill could affect larger counties when conducting the post-election audit process. (Attachment 7)
  • Rick Piepho, Master Certified County Clerk & Election Officer, Harvey County, voiced his agreement with requiring physical paper ballots be used for post-election audits instead of images of the ballots but not all counties have capability to electronically sort and display the images. (Attachment 8)
