Chairperson Delperdang called for final action on SB144. Nick Myers provided an overview of the bill and responded to questions from the committee members.
Chair opened the floor up to the audience for anyone wanting to make comments.
John Federico, Federico Consulting said he has concerns and issues with the language of the bill and would ask the committee not to support the bill.
Chairperson Delperdang opened discussion on SB144 and ask if there were any amendments.
Representative Turner presented a amendment for internet services, they would not be exempt if they provide video programming through a service and utilize wire line facilities located within any portion of the right of way that are owned, controlled constructed or operated by a provider. (Attachment16)
Chair asked for any questions about the amendment. Nick Myers gave an explanation of the amendment.
Representative Turner made a motion to move the amendment as described for SB144. Representative Bergquist seconded the motion. Motion failed.
Chairperson Delperdang asked committee for further discussion on SB144.
Representative Neighbor made a motion to pass out SB144 favorably, seconded by Representative Schlingensiepen. Motion carried.
Chairperson Delperdang adjourned the meeting at 10:52am.
