Adam Siebers, Revisor, provided an overview for SB169 that would impose a single income tax rate starting in tax year 2024 for individuals of 4.75%. Mr. Siebers stood for questions from the Committee. (Attachment 1)
Kathleen Smith, Kansas Department of Revenue provided an overview of the fiscal note for SB169 stating it would decrease the State General Fund revenues by $170.4 million in FY 2024, $568.5 million in FY 2025, and $574.2 million in FY 2026. The estimate for FY 2024 includes 30.0 percent of tax year 2024 tax liability when it goes into effect. Ms. Smith stood for questions from Committee members.
