Chairwoman Warren gave welcome as a point of personal privilege to several persons in the committee room today. Introduced by Vice-Chair Wilborn was Clayten and Cristen McCoy and introduced by Chairwoman Warren was Phoebe Martin, Becky Sampson, and Carolyn and Thomas Leow.
Chairwoman Warren opened the hearing on HB2114. Jason Thompson, Revisor's Office, provided an overview of the bill and stood for questions. (Attachment 1)
Heather Morgan gave testimony in support of HB2114. She stated she can think of no one more deserving of this honor. He would be truly humbled and honored to have the Joint Committee on Corrections and Juvenile Justice named in his honor. (Attachment 2)

Melissa A. Rooker gave in-person testimony in support of HB2114. She stated the major restructuring of the juvenile justice system in Kansas is central to his legacy. She stated she can think of no more fitting way to remember him and pay tribute to his service than renaming the committee in his honor.(Attachment 4)
