Chairperson Carpenter opened the hearing on HB2422. The Revisor provided an overview of the bill (Attachment 1)
Chairperson Carpenter recognized Doug Jorgensen as a proponent of HB2422 (Attachment 2). He stated that his agency has been experiencing recruitment and retention issues for many of the positions they have. Its boiler inspector positions have been open for a year. They believe that removing the current experience and education requirements from statute and allowing the agency to work with the Department of Administration on creating the position descriptions would greatly help fill the vacant positions. Questions were asked by Chairperson Carpenter and Representatives Highberger, Houser, Humphries, and Eplee.
There were no further conferees. Chairperson Carpenter closed the hearing on HB2422.
