Chairperson McGinn opened final action on the bill. Senator Thompson distributed his proposed amendment to the bill and explained to the committee. Senator Thompson moved that his amendment to the bill be approved. Senator Steffen seconded. Motion carried. Discussion ensued.
Senator Thompson motioned that a conceptual amendment to the amended bill that the wording "an intimate" on page 3, line 7 be struck out to clearly read "in a relationship". Senator Straub seconded. Motion passed. Upon further discussion, Senator Thompson withdrew his motion on the conceptual amendment and Senator Straub withdrew her second.
Senator Francisco motioned to strike from the amended bill, page 3 which partially includes lines 6 and 7, the language "person who is involved in an intimate relationship with such individual". Senator Thompson seconded. Motion carried. Discussion took place.
Senator Thompson moved to move the bill as amended out of committee for favorable passage. Senator Straub seconded. Chairperson McGinn requested voting by hand. Motion failed.
