Chairperson Patton opened final action on HB2293, Natalie Scott reviewed the bill.
Representative Patton moved to amend HB2293 with the reliability and jury instruction amendment (Attachment 2), seconded by Representative Goddard. Motion carried. Members asking to have their votes recorded: Yes: Carmichael, Highberger.
Representative Patton moved to amend HB2293 with the Kansas County & District Attorneys Association (KCDAA) amendment (Attachment 3). There was no second.
Representative Lewis moved to pass HB2293 as amended, seconded by Representative Carmichael. Motion carried. Members asking to have their votes recorded: Yes: Carmichael, Highberger.
Remaining bills on the agenda for final action will be worked at tomorrow's meeting. February 21, 2023.
