Craig, Blumbreich gave testimony in support of SB243. He stated this bill is a common-sense legislation that protects minors and their parents.(Attachment 6)
Written-only testimony in support of SB243 was submitted by Marlee Carpenter, Kansas Association of Property and Casualty Insurance Companies (KAPCIC) (Attachment 7)
Callie Denton gave testimony as neutral for SB243. She stated SB243 will expedite many settlements, especially for non-insurance transactions, and requested the committee consider an amendment to further clarify procedures in the bill. (Attachment 8)
Kelly VanZwoll gave testimony as neutral for SB243. She stated SB243 would create another option for court ordered payouts to be deposited without requiring the minor to have a court ordered custodian appointed, and requested the committee consider an amendment to make this legislation better. (Attachment 9)
