Short Title
Authorizing any nonresident student whose parent or guardian is employed by a school district to enroll in and attend such school district.

Nick Myers, Kansas Office of Revisor of Statutes, explained that HB 2271 would amend the Open Enrollment Provisions of (2022) HB 2567. Mr. Myers tells the committee that the HB 2271 would require school districts to treat any non-resident student that is a child of a district employee as if they were a resident student (Attachment 3).
Mr. Myers stood for questions.
The Chair opened the hearing on HB 2271.
There were no conferees to present oral testimony.
