The Chair opened the hearing on HB2240, to do with requiring the clerk of the Clerk of the District Court to give written notice of residential treatment placement. Assistant Revisor, Jessie Pringle, (Revisor) provided an overview of the Bill, and stood for questions (Attachment 1).
The following gave proponent testimony before the Committee:
Tanya Keys, Deputy Secretary, Department for Children and Families (DCF). The spokes person for the DCF reiterated the DCF's support as this bill provides clarity that the clerk of the district court shall give written notice to various parties regarding a child's move to a qualified residential treatment program after the secretary has provided notice to the court of such a move. (Attachment 2) The Conferee stood for questions.
