Chairperson Patton opened the hearing on HB2010. Natalie Scott provided an overview of the bill. (Attachment 1) Ms. Scott stood for questions.
Proponent
Representative Dennis "Boog" Highberger explained this bill has two primary purposes. (Attachment 2) to correct an outdated statutory reference he discovered while researching the law on mental illness as a legal defense and to finally get a bill with just his name on it passed into law. Natalie Scott explained two additional statutory corrections that she is planning on adding to this bill. As amendments they are in reference to correcting language in K.S.A.12736 and K.S.A.223428(a).
There were no questions and no additional conferees so Chairperson Patton closed the hearing on HB2010.
