Background

The bill was recommended by the Legislative Budget Committee.

The President and Chief Executive Officer of the Board of Regents and a representative of the University of Kansas testified and presented suggested amendments to the bill.

Senate Committee amendments to the bill deleted several provisions related to special student credit hour fees at the University of Kansas. Other amendments to the bill were technical in nature.

The fiscal note submitted by the Division of the Budget indicates the bill would have no fiscal impact.

Supplemental notes are prepared by the Legislative Research Department and do not express legislative intent. The supplemental note and fiscal note for this bill may be accessed on the Internet http://www.kslegislature.org/cgi-bin/index.cgi
