Brief
(1)
HB 2600 reconciles different
versions of statutes that resulted from statutes being amended more
than once in different bills, either during this session or in a
previous session.
Section
One
- Reconciles two amendments adopted
this session to a section relating to vehicle
registration.
- KSA 8-128, as amended by SB 73,
would be further amended to include the provisions of KSA 8-128, as
amended by HB 2144, which would be repealed.
Section
Two
- Reconciles two existing KSA
sections relating to local sales tax.
- KSA 12-192 would be amended to
include the provisions of KSA 12-192c, which would be
repealed.
Section
Three
- Reconciles two amendments adopted
this session to a section relating to county home rule.
- KSA 19-101a, as amended by Sub.
for HB 2005, would be further amended to include the provisions of
KSA 19-101a, as amended by HB 2068, which would be
repealed.
Sections Four through
Eight
- Reconcile amendments adopted this
session to various sections relating to elections.
- KSA 25-205, as amended by SB 125,
would be further amended to include the provisions of KSA 25-205,
as amended by SB 127, which would be repealed.
- KSA 25-1122, as amended by SB 125,
would be further amended to include the provisions of KSA 25-1122,
as amended by SB 127, which would be repealed.
- KSA 25-2309, as amended by SB 63,
would be further amended to include the provisions of KSA 25-2309,
as amended by SB 127, which would be repealed.
- KSA 25-2320, as amended by SB 63,
would be further amended to include the provisions of KSA 25-2320,
as amended by SB 127, which would be repealed.
- KSA 25-3602, as amended by SB 107,
would be further amended to include the provisions of KSA 25-3602,
as amended by SB 127, which would be repealed.
Section
Nine
- Reconciles amendments adopted this
session to a section relating to Wildlife and Parks
fees.
- KSA 32-988, as amended by SB 148,
would be further amended to include the provisions of KSA 32-988,
as amended by SB 147, which would be repealed.
Sections Ten through
Twelve
- Reconcile various existing KSA
sections in the Code for Care of Children.
- KSA 38-1502 would be amended to
include the provisions of KSA 38-1502d, which would be
repealed.
- KSA 38-1503 would be amended to
include the provisions of KSA 38-1503a, which would be
repealed.
- KSA 38-1583 would be amended to
include the provisions of KSA 38-1583a, which would be
repealed.

Thirteen
- Reconciles two existing KSA
sections relating to open records.
- KSA 45-221 would be amended to
include the provisions of KSA 45-221e and KSA 45-221f, which would
be repealed.

Fourteen
- Reconciles two existing KSA
sections relating to civil procedure.
- KSA 60-304 would be amended to
include the provisions of KSA 60-304a, which would be
repealed.
Section
Fifteen
- Reconciles two existing KSA
sections: the first was a new section enacted in a bill last year
to replace a section repealed in that bill; the second was an
amendment to the repealed section which was adopted in a second
bill last year.
- KSA 61-4001 would be amended to
include the provisions of KSA 61-2501, which would be
repealed.
Section
Sixteen
- Reconciles two existing KSA
sections in the professional counselor's licensure act.
- KSA 65-5812 would be amended to
include the provisions of KSA 65-5812a, which would be
repealed.
Repeals sections that contain
duplicate language.
- KSA 32-1001, as amended by SB 147,
includes the amendments that are in KSA 32-1001, as amended by SB
86, which would be repealed.
- KSA 61-3003 contains the language
of KSA 61-1803, which would be repealed.
- KSA 61-3005 contains the language
of KSA 61-1807, which would be repealed.
- KSA 20-367 contains the language
of KSA 20-367b, which would be repealed.
Background
This bill was recommended by the
Revisor of Statutes in order to reconcile different versions of
statutes that resulted from statutes being amended more than once
in different bills, either during this session or in a previous
session.
