SESSION OF 2001

SUPPLEMENTAL NOTE ON
SUBSTITUTE FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 2129

As Amended by Senate Committee on
Ways and Means

Brief (1)

Sub. for HB 2129 authorizes members, appointed to the Kansas Film Service Commission, to receive mileage, tolls, and parking, and other expenses for attendance at meetings. As amended by the Senate Committee, the bill authorizes legislative members to receive compensation and travel and subsistence the same as for any other meeting authorized by law. The substitute bill also authorizes members on the Information Technology Executive Council to receive the same mileage, tolls, and parking.

Background

The House Committee on Ethics and Elections recommended a substitute bill for HB 2129, which provided for compensation and subsistence payments.

The bill was amended by the House Committee of the Whole to limit Kansas Film Services Commission members to mileage, tolls, and parking, and to provide that members of the Information Technology Executive Council shall not be eligible for such payments. The Senate Committee amended the bill to provide mileage, tolls, and parking for members of the Information Technology Executive Council and to provide compensation and travel and subsistence for legislative members of the Kansas Film Services Commission.

No fiscal note was available for the substitute bill when it passed out of Committee.
