HB 2032 concerns professional malpractice screening panels. The bill removes the requirement that a copy of the panels' opinions be provided to the Commissioner of Insurance.

Background

HB 2032 was requested by the Insurance Commissioner whose representative explained that the Commissioner has no jurisdiction over professionals under review by screening panels, and, therefore, has no need to receive the malpractice screening panel opinions.

There was no opposition to the bill.

The fiscal note from the Division of the Budget indicates passage of the bill would have no fiscal impact.
