SUPPLEMENTAL NOTE ON HOUSE BILL NO. 2769

Brief (1)
HB 2769 would make changes to the Boiler Safety Act as
follows:
- Provide for a variance for a boiler or pressure vessel that is
unique enough to be nonconforming with the Act but still is
consistent with the spirit and safety objectives of the Act and
accompanying rules and regulations;
- Allow for the replacement of lost or destroyed inspection
certificates (a fee may be charged for the replacement); and
- Raise the inspection fee for a boiler or pressure vessel from
the current maximum of $250 to $500 and raise the certificate fee from the current maximum of $25 to $35.
The bill is placed on the consent calendar.
