SB 528 amends the 1999 Kansas Chemical Control Act to add pharmacist to the list of medical personnel contained in the definition of "practitioner" who are exempt from certain provisions of the act. The law deals with the illegal manufacturing of methamphetamines and other illegal drugs.

Background

The bill was supported by the Kansas Pharmacists Association. A representative said pharmacists were unintentionally excluded from the definition of "practitioner" last year.
