SESSION OF 2000

SUPPLEMENTAL NOTE ON SENATE BILL NO. 515

As Recommended by Senate Committee on

Elections and Local Government

Brief (1)

SB 515 is a technical cleanup bill that would amend the year designation from 19- to 20- on affidavits signed by a voter in a primary election whose qualifications to vote have been challenged. The change in date also would apply to applications for presidential ballots by recently relocated residents. In addition, the bill deletes the reference to the Secretary of State's street address in the statute dealing with voter registration applications.

Background

The Secretary of State sponsored the bill to update current law.

The Senate Committee on Elections and Local Government placed the bill on the Consent Calendar.

The Division of the Budget's fiscal note indicated that the bill would have no fiscal impact on state revenues.
