SESSION OF 1999

SUPPLEMENTAL NOTE ON HOUSE BILL NO. 2115

As Amended by Senate Committee on

Ways and Means

Brief(1)

H.B. 2115 would amend K.S.A. 45-313 to provide that paper-bound copies of the laws passed during each legislative session would be printed in quantities deemed sufficient by the Secretary of State.

The bill as amended would delete references to "clothbound" from K.S.A. 45-107.

Background

H.B. 2115 was introduced by Representative Aurand.

Current law requires that 3,750 cloth-bound copies and 500 paper-bound copies be printed with additional copies of either style in quantities of not less than 1,000.

The Senate Committee on Ways and Means amended the bill to delete references to "clothbound" from K.S.A. 45-107.

The Division of the Budget fiscal note states that the fiscal impact of the bill would be a reduction of $27,129 in State General Fund expenditures in FY 2000.
