S.B. 81 makes a cleanup amendment to K.S.A. 60-466, dealing with rules of evidence and the admission of official records to prove the absence of a record in a specified office. The bill amends K.S.A. 60-466 to strike the reference to clauses (3) and (4) of K.S.A. 60-465 and simply references K.S.A. 60-465.
Background
The bill was requested by the Kansas Securities Commissioner as a cleanup measure. The Legislature in 1998 amended K.S.A. 60-465 but failed to amend K.S.A. 60-466 which refers to stricken sections of K.S.A. 60-465.
The bill has no fiscal impact.
