Brief(1)
S.B. 32 repeals four statutes that established the Kansas Commission on Education Restructuring and Accountability and assigned duties to it. The enabling legislation provided for expiration of the act on February 1, 1993.
Background
S.B. 32 is one of 11 bills (S.B. 27 through S.B. 37) introduced by Senator Emert at the suggestion of the State Department of Education to remove from the books certain statutes that have become obsolete, have expired, or contain outdated provisions of education law.
The Kansas Commission on Education Restructuring and Accountability completed its work and reported to the 1993 Legislature. The law expired February 1, 1993.
The State Department of Education reports that the bill has no fiscal consequences.
