Brief(1)
S.B. 30 repeals a statute which permits the State Board of Education to annually publish the school laws, various forms, rules and regulations, instructions, and decisions and to deliver this material to school administrators and to members of the Legislature.
Background
S.B. 30 is one of 11 bills (S.B. 27 through S.B. 37) introduced by Senator Emert at the suggestion of the State Department of Education to remove from the books certain statutes that have become obsolete, have expired, or contain outdated provisions of education law.
State Department of Education staff regard the statute being repealed to be obsolete because the school laws are available on the Internet.
The State Department of Education reports that the bill has no fiscal impact as, in recent years, this publication of the laws has been abandoned.
