H.B. 2635 amends the state debt setoff law to delete a restriction on the use of the program for the collection of fines and penalties assessed by a municipal court.
Background
The bill was supported by the League of Kansas Municipalities, the City of Iola, and the State Director of Accounts and Reports. Proponents said cities could substantially benefit by the deletion of this unnecessary restriction on the use of the state debt setoff program.
The bill will have no fiscal impact on the state.
