S.B. 429 amends a statute dealing with the Kansas Sentencing Commission to make cleanup amendments as a result of a technical error made in a revision of the law last year. The bill deletes a reference to 19 members of the Commission since the Commission has always had 17 members. The bill also cleans up language referring to nonvoting members since changes made in 1997 provide for all members to have a vote.

The bill was supported by a representative of the Kansas Sentencing Commission as a cleanup measure.

The bill has no fiscal impact on the state.
