INTRODUCTION OF BILLS AND CONCURRENT RESOLUTIONS
 The following bills were introduced and read by title:

   HB 2982, An act concerning the theft of computer information; authorizing a civil cause
of action therefor, by Select Committee on Information Management.

 HB 2983, An act amending the Kansas underground utility damage prevention act;
amending K.S.A. 1999 Supp. 66-1802, 66-1805, 66-1811 and 66-1812 and repealing the
existing section, by Committee on Governmental Organization and Elections.

 HB 2984, An act concerning fiber-optic cable; requiring owners to submit certain
information to the state; providing penalties for violations, by Select Committee on
Information Management.

 HB 2985, An act relating to appropriation of water for use in another state; amending
K.S.A. 82a-726 and repealing the existing section, by Committee on Environment.

REFERENCE OF BILLS AND CONCURRENT RESOLUTIONS
 The following bills and resolutions were referred to committees as indicated:

 Health and Human Services: HB 2981.

CHANGE OF REFERENCE
 Speaker pro tem Mays announced the withdrawal of HB 2923 from Committee on
Taxation and referral to Committee on Transportation.

 Also, the withdrawal of HB 2743 from Select Committee on Information Management
and referral to Select Committee on Information Management and Committee on
Appropriations, separately.

MESSAGE FROM THE SENATE
 Announcing passage of SB 378, 379, 420 440, 441, 444, 451, 457, 459, 475, 504.

 Also, adoption of SCR 1630.

INTRODUCTION OF SENATE BILLS AND CONCURRENT RESOLUTIONS
 The following Senate bills and concurrent resolution were thereupon introduced and read
by title:

   SB 378, 379, 420 440, 441, 444, 451, 457, 459, 475, 504; SCR 1630.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES
 The Committee on Environment recommends HB 2659, 2781 be passed and, because
the committee is of the opinion that the bills are of a noncontroversial nature, be placed on
the consent calendar.

 The Committee on Environment recommends HB 2782 be amended on page 1, in line
21, following ``the'' by inserting ``state corporation'';

 On page 2, in line 20, following ``fund'' by inserting ``, provided such liabilities were
incurred in accordance with the prioritization schedules established pursuant to subsection
(b)(2) of section 1, and amendments thereto, and subsection (b)(2) of K.S.A. 1999 Supp.
55-192, and amendments thereto'';

 On page 6, in line 28, preceding ``well'' by inserting ``conservation fee fund,''; in line 30,
by striking all following the period; by striking all in lines 31 and 32; and the bill be passed
as amended.

   On motion of Rep. Hutchins, the House adjourned until 11:00 a.m., Monday, February
14, 2000.
