The Senate was called to order by President Dick Bond.
The roll was called with forty senators present.
President Bond introduced as guest chaplain, Rev. Leon Parker, New Hope Baptist
Church, Topeka, who delivered the invocation:
Almighty God and gracious Father, we beg of you today that you will in your grace
give wisdom in the handling of the issues before this body.
May these men and women be able to reach understanding of issues and may they in
unity agree upon those conclusions which will strengthen our great state in which we
live.
I ask that each person who is charged with the administration of our state's
government will seek to serve you and their constituency in a way that will without
question bring glory to your wonderful name.
Thank you for the privilege of calling on you Father for the guidance that is needed.
Thank you too, for the assurance that you will never leave us nor forsake us as we seek
your will.
Bless us today and we will thank you in the name of our blessed Savior, Jesus Christ.

KANSAS HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION
January 20, 1999
William V. Minner, Executive Director, Kansas Human Rights Commission, in
accordance with provisions of K.S.A. 44-1004(13), submitted the Fiscal Year 1998 Annual
Report of the activities of the Kansas Human Rights Commision.
The President announced the above reports are on file in the office of the Secretary of
the Senate and are available for review at any time.
