MOTIONS AND RESOLUTIONS OFFERED ON A PREVIOUS DAY
On motion of Rep. Glasscock, HCR 5012, A concurrent resolution providing for a joint
session of the Senate and House of Representatives for the purpose of commemorating
Kansas Day and rededicating the chamber of the House of Representatives, was adopted.
In accordance with HCR 5012, Speaker pro tem Mays appointed Reps. Toplikar and
Ballard to escort the Senators; Reps. Weber and McKinney to escort the Governor; and
Reps. Phil Kline and Reardon to escort the former Speakers of the House.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES
The Committee on Education recommends HB 2061 be passed.
The Committee on Education recommends HB 2062 be passed and, because the
committee is of the opinion that the bill is of a noncontroversial nature, be placed on the
consent calendar.
The Committee on Insurance recommends HB 2005 be amended on page 1, in line
19, before the period, by inserting ``and six months beginning with the first anniversary date
of the state health care benefits program subsequent to approval of the mandate by the
legislature''; and the bill be passed as amended.
