A Resolution congratulating and commending James W. Woods.

� � � WHEREAS,� James W. Woods, the sergeant-at-arms for the Kansas
Senate, recently received the John Everhardt "Trooper" Award from the
National Legislative Services and Security Association; and

� � � WHEREAS,� The National Legislative Services and Security Associa-
tion is an organization of sergeants-at-arms, security personnel, state po-
lice and support services staff of the nation's state legislatures; and

� � � WHEREAS,� The Trooper Award is given to long-standing members
of the National Legislative Services and Security Association who have
shown outstanding professionalism and integrity; and

� � � WHEREAS,� James W. Woods has worked for the legislature since
1985 and has been the Senate sergeant-at-arms since 1989. He has been
a member of the National Legislative Services and Security Association
since 1990 and its treasurer since 1996: Now, therefore,

� � � Be it resolved by the Senate of the State of Kansas:�That we congrat-
ulate and commend James W. Woods upon receiving this award recog-
nizing his service to the state of Kansas and to the national sergeant-at-
arms organization; and

� � � Be it further resolved:�That the Secretary of the Senate be directed
to provide an enrolled copy of this resolution to James W. Woods.
