CONCURRENT RESOLUTION urging Congress to make available
12 additional food aid
packages and commodities to needy people.

14 WHEREAS, Many
people in the world are in need of food for survival;
15 WHEREAS, The
United States agricultural industry possesses an ex-
16 cess of grain and livestock products;
and
17 WHEREAS, Food
aid packages and commodities from the United
18 States would assist people in need, both in
the United States and abroad:
19 Now, therefore,
20 Be it resolved by
the Senate of the State of Kansas, the House of Rep-
21 resentatives concurring
therein: That Congress make available addi-
22 tional food aid packages and
commodities to needy countries and to
23 homeless shelters and those living below
the poverty level in the United
24 States; and
25 Be it further
resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to
send
26 enrolled copies of this resolution to the
President of the United States;
27 the Vice-President of the United States;
Majority Leader and Minority
28 Leader of the United States Senate; the
Speaker, Majority Leader and
29 Minority Leader of the United States House
of Representatives; the Sec-
30 retary of the United States Department of
Agriculture; and to each mem-
31 ber of the Kansas Congressional
Delegation.
