9 AN ACT
concerning the chief executive officers of the state
educational
10 institutions; relating
to the compensation of such officers; amending
11 K.S.A. 76-714 and
repealing the existing section.

13 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the
State of Kansas:
14 Section
1. K.S.A. 76-714 is hereby amended to read as follows: 76-
15 714. The chief executive officer of the
university of Kansas shall have the
16 title of chancellor. The chief executive
officers of other state educational
17 institutions shall have the title of
president. The chief executive officers
18 of the state educational institutions shall
be appointed by the board of
19 regents. Such chief executive
officers, shall serve at the pleasure of the
20 board of regents and shall receive such
compensation as the board of
21 regents prescribes. Such compensation
shall be prescribed subject to and
22 within the limits of a specific
appropriation made to the board of regents
23 for such purpose and shall be paid to
the chief executive officers by the
24 board of regents only from such
appropriation.
25 Sec. 2. K.S.A. 76-714 is hereby
repealed.
26 Sec. 3. This act shall
take effect and be in force from and after its
27 publication in the statute book.
