11             AN  ACT concerning crimes and punishment; relating to unlawful con-
12             duct of cockfighting and attending the unlawful conduct of
13             cockfighting.
14      
15       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
16             Section  1. (a) Unlawful conduct of cockfighting is: (1) Causing, for
17       amusement or gain, any gamecock to fight with or injure another game-
18       cock; (2) knowingly permitting such fighting or injuring on premises un-
19       der one's ownership, charge or control; or (3) training, owning, keeping,
20       transporting or selling any gamecock for the purpose or with the intent
21       of having it fight with or injure another gamecock.
22             (b) Unlawful conduct of cockfighting is a severity level 10, nonperson
23       felony.
24             (c) Attending the unlawful conduct of cockfighting is a class A non-
25       person misdemeanor.
26             (d) The provisions of this section shall be part of and supplemental
27       to the Kansas criminal code. 
28        Sec.  2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
29       publication in the statute book.
