10 AN ACT
concerning electricians; relating to licensure thereof;
amending
11 K.S.A. 1999 Supp.
12-1525 and repealing the existing section.

13 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the
State of Kansas:
14 Section
1. K.S.A. 1999 Supp. 12-1525 is hereby amended to read as
15 follows: 12-1525. (a) Standard
examinations for the determination of com-
16 petency of electrical contractors, master
and journeyman electricians and
17 residential electricians, based upon codes
and standards effective on July
18 1, 1993, prepared and published and
available upon such date from Block
19 and Associates, Florida Farm Bureau
Building, 5700 S.W. 34th St. #1303,
20 Gainesville, Florida 32608, are hereby
designated as the standard exam-
21 inations for determining the qualification
of persons seeking licensure as
22 electrical contractors, master and
journeyman electricians and residential
23 electricians for the purposes of this
act.
24 (b) A person
shall not qualify for licensure as a journeyman electrician
25 or a residential electrician unless such
person shall have proof of comple-
26 tion of four years on-the-job training
working with a licensed journeyman
27 electrician. The board of county
commissioners of any county and the
28 governing body of any city requiring
licensure of electricians shall adopt
29 rules and regulations necessary to
implement the provisions of this
30 subsection.
31 Sec. 2. K.S.A. 1999 Supp.
12-1525 is hereby repealed.
32 Sec. 3. This act shall
take effect and be in force from and after its
33 publication in the statute book.
