10             AN  ACT concerning crimes and punishment; relating to consolidation of
11             field services; amending K.S.A. 21-4727 and repealing the existing
12             section.

14       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
15             Section  1. K.S.A. 21-4727 is hereby amended to read as follows: 21-
16       4727. All costs and expenses associated with postconviction prison and
17       nonprison sanctions imposed for felony convictions and time spent in a
18       county jail pursuant to a nonprison sanction imposed for felony convic-
19       tions shall be the responsibility of and paid by the state of Kansas. On or
20       before January 1, 1994, probation, parole and community corrections
21       services shall be consolidated after review of the recommendations of a
22       task force to be appointed by the Kansas sentencing commission. 
23       Sec.  2. K.S.A. 21-4727 is hereby repealed.
24         Sec.  3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
25       publication in the statute book.
